For two years she worked for a couture house, and then began to concentrate on her drawing, soon moving to become a freelance fashion illustrator working for fabric houses and magazines. In 1978 she moved with her husband to rural Worcestershire where she now concentrates on her painting of the Hereford and Worcestershire country scenes. Aside from her landscapes, which favour romantic sunset scenes around the Malverns, Anne is also a talented still life painter. Her subjects in this area include delicate flowers and wildlife as well as instruments and fruit. Her eye for detail is acute, and is perhaps best illustrated when she chooses to paint glistening dewy cobwebs, which have become something of a motif. Anne has shown her work at Shell House for over ten years and is now
represented in at least two exhibitions a year. We also have a set of
prints by Anne that are exclusively available from the Gallery. back |
